About

Captain Cameron

Cameron Kennedy grew up in the Pacific Northwest fishing with his father and friends and has mastered several techniques specific to the PNW such as; floating the coastal rivers chasing the elusive and acrobatic winter steelhead, backtrolling and bobber fishing for coastal fall chinook, or chasing steelhead and salmon on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.

Testimonials

"I have been fishing with Cameron for several years. Whether it's Salmon on the Columbia, a Coastal river trip for Salmon or Steelhead, or just a day of sturgeon fishing you can be sure Cam will put you on the fish and you'll have fun along the way"

Ryan Austin

"There are many fishing guides in the Pacific Northwest to choose from. But there is one that stands above the rest. I met Cameron on a winter steelhead trip in 2022. Little did I know he would not only become someone I consider a friend but is now part of my monthly budget. I have many fishing trips under my belt from Bouy 10 to Bonneville Dam and will only use him as my guide. If your looking for a great time and want to have a guide that works hard to get you on fish Cameron is in my opinion a guide above the rest. Fishing is not guaranteed but I have more trips catching than not with CK sports fishing a top notch guide service."

Mike Medvec

"Cam is one of the OK'est fishermen I know. I always laugh my ass off when I fish with him. Even when I cast into trees, or get snagged and break all my shit off, he doesn’t get mad. I would say he’s right up there with some of the Addicted guides, except maybe Popov. That guys amazing. I’ve taught Cam everything he knows about fishing the Columbia and Willamette. He learned fast and now he’s a guide! Give him a call and go catch some fish. If you’re lucky, his wife will call while you’re fishing. That is always an automatic fish-on!"

OUR TRIPS

CK Sport Fishing

B

Spring Chinook

This is one of my favorite times of year because we fish local to the Portland area, and the fish are some of the best table fare in the NW! I fish out of my 24ft Alumaweld Columbia, and can accommodate 6 anglers at a time. I have worked hard to master the art of back trolling and back bouncing eggs and no one will work harder to put springers in the boat!

B

Columbia Fall Chinook

We start targeting fall chinook down in Astoria in the Columbia river estuary in August. This is a very action packed fishery between catching chinook and coho fresh from the salt water! This typically books out a year in advance, so booking ahead of time is recommended! Come September I move up river to the beautiful Columbia river gorge fishing below Bonneville dam, With 15 to 30 lb Up River brights being the norm! I normally fish below Bonneville all the way through October 15th, but it can go later depending on the runs. End of October I will run coho trips at the mouth of the Klickitat all the way through middle of November further up into Columbia River gorge!

B

Drift Boat Fall Chinook

This fishery is very rain dependent, if we get good rains in Oct i will start then! Typically i start the first week of November and will fish all the way through the first week of December! I fish the Tillamook rivers in my 18 ft drift boat, and this is a very hands on fishery. We use techniques such as bobber fishing, back trolling plugs and bait, back bouncing eggs, and twitching jigs!

B

Winter Steelhead

Fishing in a comfortable 18 ft clackacraft fiberglass drift boat. This is a very hands on fishing experience while mostly bobber fishing and pulling plugs. Lots of fun when geared up correctly (rain gear and warm clothes), and a great opportunity to master the art of bobber fishing!

B

Sturgeon Trips

This is a fun fishery that can be done most of the year! We fish out of my 24 ft Alumaweld Columbia, and the best months for this fishery are Nov-June. 20 to 50 fish days are not uncommon, with doubles and triples being a common theme, as well as 5 to 8 ft fish commonly caught. If you want to just go pull on some fish this is a great fishery for you! There will be opportunities for keeper Sturgeon throughout the year as well. Contact me for dates.
